A random ranting ahead, but felt like sharing anyway
Is just that something that really pisses me off is see how dominant ignorance is here. It happens that I don´t know why or how, the gay subject comes pretty often these late days among my family members and friends. But the problem that they talk about it filled with prejudices and with a lack of knowledge that makes me want them to just shut up ¬¬
There is also pretty hurtfull to listen to all the cruel stuff they come with and that has been said infront of gay, bisexual and other members of the LGBT comunity.
I better make it short with a list of the most stupid conclussions they come up with, get ready:
1._There´s no repentant gay (common quote of my country reffereing that if you turn a person gay, they won´t regret it)
2._ There´s no such a thing as bisexuality, just people transformed in gay.
3._Asexuality is just a mental problem or a sign of inmaturity, probably it doesn´t even exist. (and the asexuality topic was never mentioned again)
4._Gay men want to become women and gay women dream to become men.
5._Gays are perverts who dream with a gay world.
6._Gay men envy and even hate women.
7._Homosexuality is not normal, the day there are more gays than straight people or the day that we are born with two genitals THEN I might consider it normal.
8._Most people with AIDS are gays.
9._ Most pedophiles are gays.
10._They (gay people) can teach a little boy or girl how to become gay and that´s wrong. They shouldn´t be parents. (going back to the first 2 points of this list)
11._They are satanic and possesed by evil spirits (this was told by a religious person)
12._ We can support gays as long as they don´t act gay in public, for a matter of respect to the normal people. (this meant of them not kissing, hugging or holding hands)
13._male gays are girly and lesbians manly, if they are the opossite then they are faking it.
And there are more, but these are the most common I´ve heard, here and well, you can see why I´m pissed. BECAUSE THEY MEAN EVERY SINGLE WORD. Probably there might be people in real life with some of those characteristics, but it pisses me off how THEY SAY EVERY GAY PERSON IS LIKE THIS LIST AND NO EXCEPTION.
And what makes things worst: their lack of interest of knowing about this gay people they talk about that much ¬¬
seems that stereotypes about them are more reliable sources of information about this comunity and if a gay gets offended "I´m sorry, deal with it" (that was an actual comment from a close friend)
Also that seems here otehr topic that aparently won´t be never accepted is bisexuality: People can´t accept bisexuality as a real orientation, they just say bisexuals are just in "the roead to gayland", referring that straight people convert into gay or gay convert permanently into straight.
Wich means PEOPLE THINK THERE IS A ORIENTATION SWITCH IN EVERY HUMAN BEING.
I really would love to know YOUR opinions, becaus ei hate to be alone in these kind of stuff.
Rant 
So, okay please don't hate me for this, but I don't believe being gay/lesbian/Bi is morally right. BUT, I am NOT one of those people who hates on those people or thinks it's completely disgusting, etc. I completely respect everyone's decisions about those things because I am not them and I can't control them. I think it's an interesting concept about sexual preferences. I have discovered that scientists have found that everyone has a certain kind of cell/hormone in their body that controls who they're attracted to. What they discovered is that everyone has an equal amount of the hormones that make them attracted to the same sex and the hormones that make them attracted to the opposite sex. The people who are gay/lesbian have more of the hormones that are attracted to the same sex than the hormones that make them attracted to the opposite sex, thus, they are lesbian/gay. I also know that there are people who chose to be gay/lebian, etc and there are those who are just born that way. So I know that for me, this issue is still very complicated and confusing and hard for me to understand. But due to my religion and just my opinions, I don't think it's right. But like I said, I will never judge anyone for their sexual preference nor will I disrespect them.
So, I will reply to what these bullet point are based on my opinion....
1. Repentant gay? I've never heard of this phrase before... could you describe this a but more please?
2. ...Well of my understanding of 'bisexuality,' it is when someone is attracted to both sexes. A female can be attracted to men and women, and a man can be attracted to men and women. If I have this definition correct, there is clearly such a thing as bisexuality. XD
3. Wrong! There is such a thing as asexuality. Although I find Asexuality an interesting sexual preferance as well.
4. Hah, false! This is a stereotype.
5. False!
6. False!
7. Personally, I don't think homosexuality or bisexuality, etc is "normal," but I definitely wouldn't consider is an 'abomination' or 'abnormal' :/ Although it kind of depends how you define normal.
8. False! Anyone can get AIDS.
9. False!
10. I'd be lying if I said that the people around you don't influence the way you think and behave. To me, your sexual preference is a part of the way you think and behave. But no, gay men/women can't teach their children to be bi/gay/lesbian. As a matter of fact, it seems many of the gay community who are parents make better parents because they are so thankful to be able to have a child!
11. False!
12. If you're going to be a supporter of the gays, you have to be one all the way. But to me, I never really like any kind of physical display of affection in public. I mean, kissing is fine, but if you're really going at it then you have to get a room xD
13. False!
Anyway, I could discuss this topic forever. I'm not trying to be narrow-minded or anything, because I know I may sound like it since I don't know a lot about this topic. But I would definitely be open to hearing your or other's opinions about this.

is a fair point because one think is dislike them or disagree with them and otehr way different is hate them. And other more important, and wich was the cause of porbelm among my real life people is the lack of tolerance and respect for this comunity.
I have a real life friends who thinks like you about gay, trans, bi and pan people, but also like you, she respects them.
I´m aware that not everyone will like or understand this people, but is ok
AS LONG AS THERE´S RESPECT AND TOLERANCE.
For example, myself I´m not a christian and never feel very confortable with religions, yet I understand and respect those who believe in something and feel confortable with a faith.
so happens with sexual orientations: the thing is accept those people who are different from us in place of reject them and when that doesn´t happen is when we have a problem.

in Chilean spanish is "no hay maricón arrepentido" wich reffers that if a man becomes gay he won´t regret it.

chilean peopel are very close minded about a lot of stuff, not only about the non straight people, so is the same about religions, sexism (my country is very sexist sadly), racism (because also my country is so racist

we have to wait at least another decades before tolerance becomes a reality
